Scentwork harnesses your dog's natural ability and is a great activity for all ages and breed of dog, providing both physical and mental exercise.

Scent Detection: Nikki is a Gold level UK Sniffer Dogs scent detection instructor (currently the only instructor in Scotland qualified to this level) and a World Scent Dog Association (Blue level) Instructor.

Mantrailing: Nikki is a Mantrailing Instructor qualified and assessed by Mantrailing Global and Enigma Canine.

Tracking: Nikki also teaches sport tracking and is a Bronze level UK Sniffer Dogs Instructor and Enigma Canine Trusted Instructor for this discipline..
UK SNIFFER DOG BRONZE SCENT DETECTION
This is our beginners scent detection course. We will teach your dog to recognise and find for a specific scent. Using a variety of search items and areas, we will teach them to search and indicate when they find the scent.
All classes are on-lead and require no previous scentwork experience. Some venues are suitable for reactive dogs - please get in touch to discuss.
TRACKING FOUNDATIONS
This is our beginners tracking course. Tracking is the ability to detect, recognise and follow a specific scent of ground disturbance.
We will teach the dogs to follow track scent, which is the disturbance in the ground left by the humans feet (footprints). Tracking dogs are taught to keep their nose down and follow the whole track, not just to get to the end, but to also indicate on any evidence (articles) dropped by the track layer, and find which route they took.
All classes are on-lead/long line and require no previous experience. Some classes are suitable for reactive dogs.
UK SNIFFER DOG SILVER SCENT DETECTION
This is our intermediate scent detection course, the follow on to Bronze. We introduce two new odours and also a retrieve search. All classes are on-lead. Participants are required to have completed the beginners scentwork class. Some venues are suitable for reactive dogs - please get in touch to discuss.
UK SNIFFER DOG GOLD SCENT DETECTION
This is our advanced scent detection course, the follow on to Silver. We introduce one new odour and build advanced skills such as inaccessible hides and water searches. All classes are on-lead. Participants are required to have completed the silver scentwork class. Some venues are suitable for reactive dogs - please get in touch to discuss.
"KEEP ON SNIFFING" CLUB
Ad hoc scentwork sessions for anyone that has completed any of our scentwork courses. Locations and activities will vary and spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
MANTRAILING
Teaching dogs to find people by following human scent. Mantrailing involves another person laying a trail for your dog, leaving behind an article with their unique scent on it. Your dog is then taught to take the scent from the article and follow the trail to find the person and their reward.
Mantrailing sessions are suitable for reactive dogs as each dog trails one at a time.
To start you need to complete an Intro session. After completion you can join any of the progression sessions as often as you like.
